Paaseo ("we", "us", or "our") is a gate access management platform built for housing societies in India. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.
What we collect
We collect only the minimum information required to operate the service:
- Mobile number — used for OTP-based login. This is the primary identifier for every account.
- Full name — provided during registration, used to identify residents and staff in entry logs.
- Unit / flat number — associates a resident with a specific unit in a society.
- Push notification token — used solely to send entry alerts and walk-in approval requests to your device. Never shared with third parties.
- Entry logs — every gate scan generates a timestamped record: who entered, which gate, whether entry was allowed or denied. These logs are tied to your society and are accessible to society admins and the resident whose QR was scanned.
- Guest pass data — name and contact of guests you invite, valid window, entry count. This data is entered by you and is used only to verify entries at the gate.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect your location or GPS coordinates.
- We do not access your camera except during an active QR scan initiated by you.
- We do not collect contacts, photos, or any other device data.
- We do not show advertising. There are no ad networks or tracking pixels.
- We do not sell or share your data with any third party for commercial purposes.
How we use your data
Your data is used exclusively to provide the Paaseo service:
- Authenticating you via OTP on login.
- Generating and validating QR codes for gate entry.
- Sending push notifications for entry alerts and walk-in approvals.
- Allowing society admins to manage residents, staff, and guests within their society.
- Maintaining entry logs for security and accountability within your society.
Data storage
All data is stored on servers located in India. We use industry-standard encryption (TLS in transit, AES-256 at rest) to protect your information. Access is restricted to authenticated users and is scoped to your society — no user can see data from another society.
Data retention
Entry logs are retained for 12 months from the date of entry and then automatically deleted. Guest pass data is deleted 30 days after the pass expires. Account data (name, mobile number, unit) is retained for as long as your account is active. If your society admin removes your account, your personal data is deleted within 30 days.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data.
